Arboristry PLA

Arboristry Associates traces its beginnings back to 1993 when Mike Neal, equipped with degrees in Landscape Maintenance and Ornamental Horticulture, along with experience in various aspects of the industry, embarked on an entrepreneurial journey. Founded on three main goals, Arboristry aimed to provide Central Virginia with quality tree and specialty grounds care, offer an exceptional customer experience, and foster employee growth while honoring family values.

Over the years, Arboristry achieved local and national recognition for its professionalism, progressiveness, conscientiousness, and dedication to customer service. The company was 3rd in Virginia and 35th nationally to receive Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) Accreditation.

In November 2022, Arboristry was acquired by The Davey Tree Expert Company. Through this partnership, our clients have access to Davey’s leading diagnostic laboratory, the Davey Institute, which will help provide science-based care and research for our their property care needs.

Community Involvement & Demonstrations

Certified Arborist Educational Demonstrations

To give back to the community we welcome opportunities to demonstrate proper pruning and other plant healthcare techniques to groups.

We regularly meet with student groups, the Charlottesville Area Tree Stewards, and Master Gardener groups in several counties. We bring along the right tools, safety gear, insect samples, and a passion for proper plant health care.

Student Career Days
